yoga blocks are an accessory to yoga practice and are most useful when you want to hold a specific pose for a length of time. They are less usefull in vinyasas, or flow sequences, where they can get in the way of a series of movements. They are used to align the body properly, for example when you can’t touch the floor, this is unlike a yoga strap that are designed for maintaining a pose or to stretch muscles more effectively.

The blocks are used under the hands, feet, or seat to achieve proper alignment and deepen stretches safely for example

yoga blocks are rectangular wedges commonly made from either foam or wood, and sometimes bamboo. Each block offers three dimensions but the standard measurements are 5 inches x 9 inches x 3 inches.
