What are Yoga Positions
Yoga positions can also be know as Asanas. Each pose has been developed will work different parts of the body
and provide different health benefits. The health benefits you can
gain from practicing yoga include toning of the muscles, more supple joints and
more flexibility of the spine. Each yoga position is held for a certain amount of controlled breathes.
Many poses can look extreme, but they all have variations, that act as a
starting point until you have gained enough flexibility for the full pose. You
can also use props and straps to help you achieve the pose.
If you where an onlooker in a yoga class the positions the students take may look than nothing more than physical exercise, but
as you practice and study each pose you will soon realize apart from controlling
your body during the pose you are also having to control your mind and breathing. By practicing
yoga regularly you will improve your health both physically and mentally.
How can I learn more?
Learning poses should always be done under the guidance of
